2007 Jaguar XKR Coupe and Convertible Preview
by Michel Deslauriers / Auto123.com
Following the launch of their new XK models, Jaguar announced their new supercharged sports cars for 2007. Like the XK, the XKR uses an aluminum monocoque body structure.

A 4.2-liter supercharged 32-valve V8 that develops 420 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque is found under the hood of the new XKR. Jaguar claims 0-100 km/h times of 5.2 seconds for the coupe and 5.3 seconds for the convertible, a full second quicker than the normally-aspirated XK models. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

The XKR models feature a new grille and front bumper, a vented hood and a different wheel design. 20-inch alloy wheels are optional. They also get uprated springs and dampers and a recalibrated Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) system. Inside, the supercharged Jag hosts aluminum trim with optional no-cost burl walnut and XKR sport seats.

Pricing starts at $117,000 for the Coupe and $127,000 for the Convertible.
